If you’re familiar with Law of Attraction you’ll know that you’re always attracting things to you by your thoughts, words and most importantly, what you feel.
The quality of what you’re attracting and creating is determined by the quality of your focus, feelings and therefore vibration.
That’s why clarity is your superpower and why confusion is your kryptonite.
The problem is that people often find it difficult to achieve clarity of purpose.
But what’s the alternative?
Staying in a cycle of attracting more career confusion, ‘stuckness’ and work that feels off-purpose from who you are? Wasting your potential career success?
So I want to explain how to start shifting your energy to begin attracting and consciously creating an authentic, passion-fuelled and purpose-driven life and career on purpose.
What I’m going to share with you is based on my experience of working with hundreds and hundreds of people as a Career Purpose Coach since 2001, both privately and within organisations. But I’m not your typical coach because Law of Attraction underpins my entire process with one to one coaching and with my Woman On Purpose Membership.
So let’s reveal the power of Law of Attraction for career clarity with a story about Penny, a manager in a telecommunications company.
Penny was feeling that her career had stalled and her lack of fulfilment was beginning to impact every aspect of her life.
When she described her situation she consistently used language like stuck, confused, frustrated, unhappy and mentioned “my boss doesn’t get me”, “there are no opportunities here”, “I want to work 4 days a week but there are no jobs with that flexibility”, “I don’t know what I want to do” and so on. She mentioned that at times she could get very down on herself.
Now, when you put your Law of Attraction (LOA) hat on, what was Penny focusing on and therefore creating more of? In other words, was her POINT OF ATTRACTION?
As a result, Penny was cycling around DISENGAGED and STUCK AND CONFUSED on the Woman On Purpose Career Ladder pictured below.
This ladder outlines the opportunity and journey when you decide to align your career to your passion and purpose.
The first thing Penny needed to change was her story and her focus.
She needed to move her focus, her thoughts and her language off her current reality in order to create a different future reality.
You must shift your focus from what you don’t want to what you do want to create a new point of attraction.
Now you might be saying right now, “But I don’t know what I want!”
Well, you may not know the specifics of what you want yet, but you do know generally what you want because you know what you don’t want.
Use ‘Contrast’ to get clear on what you want.
In LOA language, ‘contrast’ is what you don’t want. Contrast typically gives you a negative feeling and is evidence that the thoughts you are thinking are out of alignment with your inner truth.
For example, when you say, “I feel so stuck and confused”, you don’t feel good. The negative feeling (contrast) is evidence that what you are saying is out of alignment with your higher self and it also reveals your point of attraction.
You have the power to recognise the contrast and consciously shift to a better feeling thought that is in closer alignment to who you are, therefore shifting your point of attraction.
The problem for most people is they stay stuck in the contrast and pitch a tent there, attracting more of the same and cementing their beliefs with physical proof that nothing changes. What they don’t realise is they’re recreating their own reality unconsciously over and over again.
By sifting through her contrast Penny identified that she wanted to feel excited and inspired my her work. She wanted to feel like she was making a difference and was valued. She wanted a respectful relationship with her manager where she was supported with challenging opportunities. She wanted career clarity and greater balance working 4 days per week, so she could have a greater presence at home to be “a great mum”, rather than being constantly tired and grumpy.
The big opportunity is creating your life and career consciously by setting new intentions and creating a state of allowing to attract the new experience into your physical reality.
So once you’ve worked through your contrast and set new intentions for what you want (keep in mind that sifting through your contrast is an ongoing process) and now it’s about ALLOWING.
Allowing is becoming the vibrational match for what it is you want in order for it to come into your experience.
For simplicity in this post I’m going to focus on two key ways of allowing:
The first is about moving to a state of expecting, believing and knowing that your intentions are coming into your reality and imagining the wonderful feelings of experiencing what it is you want before you have it.
The second is about being in a state of high positive vibration as much as possible. When you are positive, joyful, relaxed, happy and grateful your are in closer alignment to your Higher Self and Source. Your feelings (positive and negative) demonstrate the degree of your vibrational alignment with your higher self and the Universe. The higher your vibrational alignment the more you attract what you want into your experience.
This process of CONSCIOUS CREATION is consciously manifesting what you want rather than unconsciously manifesting what you don’t want.
Once Penny had refocused her point of attraction she began working on her beliefs and mindset, doing things that brought her great joy, focusing on gratitude and much more.
As she shifted her vibration things began to shift around her. She could see evidence that her life was changing and her self confidence grew.
Penny became aware quite quickly that she had shifted above the turning point line on the Woman On Purpose Ladder, and her focus became playing at the top of the ladder.
Penny’s most powerful shift was her declaration of being ON PURPOSE. She consciously chose to shift from I can’t find my purpose to I’m finding my purpose to I am on purpose.
From a LOA perspective her final shift to I am on purpose was a new and very powerful point of attraction for her, which brought a new level of manifestation and expansion.
What’s exciting about using Law of Attraction for your career development is how you can amplify your ability to move up the ladder.
So after reading this post, how can you apply LOA to your life and career?
Where are you putting your focus and what are you therefore attracting?
Where are you sitting on the ladder and where do you want to be?
